UPDATE: O365 E2 Grant Discontinuation effective October 1st
Dear Valued Partner: On April 3, 2023, Tech for Social Impact, part of Microsoft Philanthropies, announced the final discontinuation of the legacy Office 365 E2 grant offer that was provided through the Web Direct channel. * * It has come to our attention that due to a technical issue in the offer catalog system, subscriptions of the discontinued Office 365 E2 offer are incorrectly auto-renewing. To address this issue, Microsoft will disable Office 365 E2 subscriptions that have been incorrectly renewed. This legacy plan was discontinued by Microsoft in 2013 and will no longer be supported. The discontinuation of Office 365 E2 won’t affect any plans currently available in our nonprofit offer catalog, including 10 granted licenses of Microsoft 365 Business Premium, 300 granted licenses of Microsoft 365 Business Basic, and up to 2000 granted licenses of Office 365 E1 via Enterprise Agreement. We’ll continue to provide discounts to nonprofits of up to 75 percent on many Microsoft 365 products. • At the next renewal on or after October 1, 2023, customers subscribed to this legacy offer may renew into the Office 365 E1 plan, priced at USD $2.50 per user per month. • Alternatively, customers can transition up to 300 of their users from the legacy Office 365 E2 nonprofit grant to the Microsoft 365 Business Basic nonprofit grant or can access up to 2000 granted Office 365 E1 licenses through an Enterprise Agreement. Notifications were sent directly to the Global Admins and Billing Admins on April 3, 2023, and posted through the Tenant Admin Center Alerts. If any nonprofit customers ask you about this outreach from TSI, please direct them to the Nonprofit Support team for further assistance. Engage with your customer(s) and support them in making the right decision on what to do and supply the grant or discounted licenses that they need to replace the Office 365 E2 grant licenses. Microsoft 365 Business Premium & Office 365 E1 grant discontinuation on CSP and Web Direct channels Microsoft announced on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, that the Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant and Office 365 E1 grant on CSP and Web Direct Channels will be discontinued for nonprofit customers upon their next renewal date on or after July 1, 2025. To support nonprofits during this transition, Microsoft continues to offer: Up to 300 granted licenses of Microsoft 365 Business Basic. Discounts up to 75 percent on many Microsoft 365 nonprofit offers, including Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Office 365 E1. The Tech for Social Impact Team Azure Grant Update Effective October 1, 2023, the Azure grant is now USD2,000. You’ll no longer be able to renew at the previous Azure grant level, and at the next grant renewal on or after October 1, 2023, you’ll be granted USD2,000 of Azure sponsorship credits annually as long as you remain eligible to receive such grants. At your next subscription renewal on or after October 1, 2023, the price for the five granted licenses of Dynamics Sales Enterprise will increase from USD0 to the standard nonprofit discounted price. The nonprofit customers have been made aware of these changes. Act now to prepare your nonprofit customers. Effective July 1, 2025 Microsoft is introducing updated pricing for Microsoft Teams Phone and Power BI starting July 1, 2025. Currently, there are no pricing changes for customers who purchase Teams Phone or Power BI through Microsoft 365 E5 or Office 365 E5 annual term subscriptions with annual billing. TEAMS PHONE Teams Phone is enhancing communication experiences for organizations of all sizes. Over 20 million PSTN enabled users have turned to Teams Phone for its AI-powered features that enhance communication and keep organizations connected with improved management, reliability, and survivability. Starting on July 1, 2025, we're making the following changes to our per user pricing: Teams Phone Standard will be $4.00 per user, per month ($48.00 per user/year) Teams Phone with Calling Plan (country zone 1 - US) will be $12.32 per user, per month ($147.85 per user/year) Teams Phone with domestic calling (country zone 1 - UK/Canada) $5.10 per user, per month ($61.20 per user/year) This update marks the first price increase since Teams Phone launched in 2017. It is reflective of the increased value we have delivered to our customers to enable flexible, smart, and reliable calling natively in Teams.
