News web part
18 TopicsFiltering News with multiple Content Types
Hi all, hoping there is something that I am missing here, but it appears that the News web part can only be set to filter based on properties shared with the current page. We use multiple site page Content Types with different properties to control our navigation, however it appears that I can't filter news based on a column, unless the page I'm currently on also contains that column. Anybody else experienced this issue, or know of a workaround (aside from adding the columns I want to filter on to the content type of the page hosting the web part)?3.3KViews1like4CommentsWe would like the news web part to show Created By instead of Author byline
Hello All For our customer it's a show stopper that users are able to select other users as authors in news post in the news web part in SharePoint online. We need to select the actual logged in user or the created by field as author. Does anybody know how we can achieve this? Help is highly appreciated! Thanks!1.2KViews0likes5CommentsSharePoint News web part publish date displaying as in X hours
I’ve noticed recently that when a news article is published it has the publish date say “in x hours." However, the other news posts on the page say "X hours ago" or "X days ago". Are there any explanations for this? I've tried disabling the show publish date option & re-enabling it, but it didn't change anything. Hello Everyone We are using the News web part on our company intranet which is filtered using a managed property. From this Tuesday, it's started playing up. The Intranet displays incorrect dates for all the news postings (8 hours less). I have attached the screenshots for your reference. Is anyone else facing the same issue? Any help will be appreciated. Hi all, I have a news filter app on my intranet home page. I have 2 filters which currently filter the page category column from my site pages library to include the page categories 'News' and 'Blogs' and it works fine. When I try and set up a third filter to filter the keyword column in my site pages library with a particular keyword called ' staff' then things break down and I have no results visible in the news app 😞 So I am looking to filter all pages from my pages library that come under the page categories 'news', 'blogs' and which are tagged with keyword 'staff' any ideas? regards721Views0likes0CommentsAudience Targeting - News Web Part
We have a SharePoint Teams site which currently has certain web parts that have audience tartgeting, currently on the site we have Navigational Links & Quick Links which Audience Targeting works accordingly. However, for the news web part - any news thats featured here audience Targeting does not apply - we have security groups etc set up which work for other Tartgeting. However, for Example when we have News Article A which is targeted to Group A when a user logs onto a site for say Group B they are able to see this article on the main featured news part, nonetheless once they click the see all news article link above the featured articles, Article A is hide from Group B. Any idea why this won't work on featured articles on the main page.881Views0likes0CommentsNews Web Part rendering issues
Is anyone noticing major rendering issues with the SharePoint Online News web part? The issues are similar to this post... https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/sharepoint/changes-to-top-story-news-web-part/m-p/2586536 ...but the impact is also on other 'Layout' types. It is almost as if Microsoft have broken their CSS or something, as the images used in news item banners are rendering as full size, rather than being cropped and having a gradient applied (to ensure text is readable in the web part). My configuration of the web part is as shown below (or attached), and I can confirm that this issue is happening in multiple tenants, and mulitple site collections. In fact, I can't find any site collection where this issue ISN'T occurring. Be very keen to hear of others experiencing this, and would be grateful if others could test this in their own tenants to see how widescale the problem is. Hi, I realize there have been posts about this earlier, but I didn't find a solution from them, so I hope it's okay to post again. I have just created our intranet in Sharepoint (O365). It has not been shared with our company yet. I have used a communication page as a hub site. On that site I have a web part for News. Following happened I had posted few news topics to the web part. After that I gave editing permission to a colleague to the same site (hub site). She didn't see any content - just an empty web part. When she posted a news item, we could both see it. We are launching the intranet in 1 week for everyone and I would like to be sure that everyone can see the news items. Is there anything I should check / do in order to make sure that it works? Since I have learned everything by doing (and googling), I have e.g. not done anything to the root site and I understand that I cannot change that anymore, since my Home site is already a hub site. This just as a background info. Also, I was not able to activate SharePoint Server Publishing. I received an error. I would be very thankful for any help. Thank you.1.8KViews0likes4CommentsNews Webpart - Displaying personalized News based on Followed sites - Modern sites
Is there a possibility to display personalized news on News webpart placed on a Hub site, based on both below criteria: 1.) Display News only from sites which user is Following ? 2.) Display News from all sites mapped with a Hub site - I understand this is possible. Thanks for your response.5.2KViews0likes5Comments
