At our organization, we have an SOP for purging phishing emails from all mailboxes. Part of that is creating a search and then examining it for any legit emails before going on to the purge step. The commands below are no longer returning any data, and they used to work. What has changed? PS C:\Windows\system32> Connect-IPPSSession -UserPrincipalName email address removed for privacy reasons PS C:\Windows\system32> New-ComplianceSearch -Name "Broken" -ExchangeLocation All -ContentMatchQuery 'Subject:"invoice"' Name RunBy JobEndTime Status ---- ----- ---------- ------ Broken NotStarted PS C:\Windows\system32> Start-compliancesearch -identity "broken" PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-compliancesearch -identity "broken" Name RunBy JobEndTime Status ---- ----- ---------- ------ Broken admin 7/14/2025 8:17:09 PM Completed PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-ComplianceSearch -Identity "broken" | >> Select-Object Name, Status, ItemsFound, Size, CreatedBy, CreatedTime | >> Export-Csv -Path "C:\filename.csv" -NoTypeInformation The resultant .csv has only the headers, but no information about emails, so any purge commands have nothing to purge. We have just received a troubled call stating that the Search Feature inside of the MS 365 Group Mailboxes is not working. I reviewed this, and it is the same for all MS 365 Group Mailboxes, while the search feature dose work with all personal mailboxes. We are on the New Outlook platform and this issue is occurring for both Installed and web version of Outlook. Has anyone run across this or know of a fix? Hi, I would like to kindly ask you for help. Currently I have studied Microsoft search and options how to improve it. I have found these search components on this official video (https://youtu.be/jKpIDBalLW0?si=M_qVbY4KWOrZEVy7&t=2103). Unfortunately I have not found any further information where to find those components to use it. Does anyone have an experience with that? It will be really useful and I really appreciate it. I have tried to send an email to mentioned address but unfortunately it does not exist anymore. Thank you for your response. Best regards and have a nice day Mirek 🙂98Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft Graph API for search suggestion

SharePoint Advanced Management includes a feature called "Restricted Content Discovery" aka RCD. The FAQs mention that: Restricted Content Discovery only affects tenant-wide search (SharePoint home, Office.com, Bing) and Microsoft 365 Copilot But then it goes on to mention: Restricted Content Discovery doesn't remove content from the tenant search index. and: Restricted Content Discovery is a site-level property. I completely understand that its intended use is to give organisations time to review and/or audit permissions and deploy access controls while onboarding Copilot in a safe manner. My focus is custom search solutions and custom apps that use search and should respect the RCD property. Being a property and the content remains in the index, it could be interpreted that RCD feature only works in the named services i.e. SharePoint Home, Office.com, Bing and Microsoft Copilot and it does not apply in Micrsoft Search, custom organisation-wide Search solutions e.g. using PnP-Search, API calls using the Graph etc. Is that the case? Also can the property be queried and retrieved using the Search API or is it limited to PowerShell?969Views0likes2Comments
