I am writing to bring to your attention a critical issue affecting a significant portion of our fleet of Android devices. Approximately 10-20 percent of our devices are experiencing a perplexing problem with the Teams application, wherein certain teams fail to sync and update properly. To date the only fix is for the user to log into a web browser version of teams and look at the teams channel it then updates on the tablet. The symptoms of this issue are as follows: despite new posts being made in a channel, affected devices display outdated information and fail to reflect the latest updates. Consequently, users are unable to access crucial information in a timely manner, significantly impeding workflow and collaboration efforts. To date, we have exhausted various troubleshooting measures, all of which have proven ineffective in resolving the issue. These include: Clearing cache and temporary files: This action results in channels appearing blank, devoid of any data, including both old and new posts. Logging out and then back in: Despite attempting to re-authenticate, the problem persists. Deleting the Teams application from the device: Reinstalling the application has not yielded any improvements. Interestingly, we have observed that if a user is tagged in a post, the content becomes accessible through the activity tab of Teams. However, this workaround is not a sustainable solution for our operational needs. Given the severity of this issue and its adverse impact on our productivity, we urgently require your assistance in identifying and rectifying the root cause from the administrative side. Any insights or guidance you can provide to resolve this matter expediently would be greatly appreciated.470Views0likes2CommentsManaging chat contacts within MS Teams
I really like to have an option to use a kind of alias for chat contacts as connected many companies who are using MS Teams too, -this is increasing drastically-, and all the external contacts just have an additional "(External)" in their names, where identify which person belongs to which company is almost impossible without additional actions (for example opening contact details).2Views0likes0CommentsAccepting messages
Hello everyone, We have a client that wants to be able to message us directly over Teams, as we are their IT support. We want to set it in such a way so the recipient has to 'accept' the message - rather than just getting it. We have concerns that the client will just message technicians directly and bypass the support process but need the technicians to speak to them if needed I have seen Microsoft support message on Teams that require being accepted first - how would we set this up for our tenant? Is something like this possible with Teams or is there a smarter way to do it?18Views0likes1CommentOwner able to delete posts but not thread?
I am a Team owner, and I can delete replied to posts by users and myself but I need to blow out the whole thread. All the messages are deleted and no ellipses show up for the whole post level. From everything I have read being able to delete should work right?40Views0likes3CommentsIs there a way to create custom Chat sections other than Pinned and Recent?
Under Chat you can pin a particular chat and it will show under a "Pinned" section that can be collapsed / expanded, besides the "Recent" section that is always there. As you start pinning more conversations the Pinned section can get more cluttered. Is there a way to create custom sections? For example to group people from TeamA so I can find their contacts easily instead of having to search for them. Note that I don't want to send a message to multiple people at once, the idea is to be able to quickly find the contacts that are available from a given group. This feature is available on Slack (custom sections) and it was really useful to me, before I moved to my current employer which uses Teams instead.41KViews16likes28CommentsDeveloper Tenant External User Messaging Issue
Hi everyone I have a Microsoft 365 Developer Tenant which includes 25Microsoft 365 E5 Developer licences. I have been messaging a friend who is external to this tenant and it has been working fine up until around 2 weeks ago. Having looked into it, this seems to have coincided with Microsoft enforcing the policy to block federation with Teams trial-only tenants. Am I right in thinking that my developer tenant is considered a trial-only tenant in this instance?187Views0likes1CommentExtracting Device and Participation Details in Microsoft Teams
Hi everyone, I am working on a project for my organization to extract detailed information about Teams calls. Specifically, I need to gather data on the devices used by participants, as well as their join and leave times for each Teams meeting. This includes both participants and organizers. My current approach involves: 1. Using Microsoft Graph API to access call and participant data. 2. Fetching relevant details such as device type, join time, and leave time. - What are the best practices for extracting and managing this data? - Are there any specific API endpoints or techniques you recommend for efficiently retrieving this information? - How can I ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data collected? - Are there any tools or libraries that can simplify this process? Looking forward to your insights and experiences! Thanks in advance for your help!48Views1like2CommentsAdding External user to group chat
Hello All, I am having difficulties with group chat functionality. I am attempting to add an external user to one of our group chats and in doing so I get a message "Some of these people are outside your org. Adding them will create a new group chat" This particular users org is federated with our tenant. I can chat with this user and also see presence when chatting directly or in a new group. I would like for this user to see the group chat history or at the very least be added to the current group without creating a new chat.Solved26KViews0likes6CommentsUnable to download teams channel pasted image
