How do i force my list to open always in modern experience?
Hi, We have SharePoint list which is customized using PowerApps custom forms. I want the list to open always in Modern experience for the PowerApp form to work. The list has flow which sends notification to end users with edit item link to PowerApp form . We want the list to open always in Modern experience so that the custom powerapp form works properly.Can i set this at sitecollection level or list level? Because setting the list to open in New Experience from advanced settings doesn't seems to work for end users.At times the list is opening in classic experience.
Merge two columns in one column in sharepoint list
Hi, I have a sharepoint list with 10 columns and due to revised requirements. we have to merge data 2 columns into 1 and remove other two columns. Ex: Current structure(we have close to 200 entries) First Name Last Name Age ---> required Name Age. we have update data for existing records and only want New structure for any new entries. I've noticed (what I think is) a bug with the 'List properties' web part in SharePoint Online. Here's what I'm doing: I add a 'Document library' web part to a SharePoint modern site page and choose a document library. I add a 'List properties' web part to the same page. I connect the 'List properties' web part to the 'Document library' web part. I set 'Allow users to edit list items' to 'On'. In the 'Select fields to display' section of the 'List properties' web part, I select four of the ten fields (my Document library has ten fields). What do I expect? When I select an item in the 'Document library' web part, I expect the four fields that I selected to display in the 'List properties' web part to appear for the selected document. I expect to be able to edit any of those four fields. When I finish making my edits to any or all of the four fields, I still only see the four fields I selected to display. What happens? The four fields that I selected to display in the 'List properties' web part to appear for the selected document. GOOD! I can edit any of the four fields. GOOD! When I finish my edits to any or all of the four fields, ALL of the ten fields are then displayed and are editable. NOT SO GOOD! Is this a bug? I really think it is and if so, can someone at Microsoft take a look into this and hopefully fix it? Thanks.
Document library in new experience slower than classic experience
Hi, We currently have a number of document libraries on our communication site using the new list experience for our clients to view files. When we attempt to edit the meta data in "Quick edit" mode the library becomes extremely slow to the point where it is unworkable. If we set the library list experience to classic the data can be edited without any problems, shouldn't the modern experience be quicker? Does anyone know if there is a way, or any settings we can alter to make our document libraries perform faster in the new list experience? Failing that, is it possible to create a view for editing that displays the classic experience and a view for our clients to view files that uses the modern experience? As I can only find an option to set the library to one or the other. Cheers, Lee Millar
Spurious blank entry at top of a choice column entry
Hello all, With Sharepoint New Experience, I have created a list with a column, which is of type Choice, and contains a couple of items. When I go back to my list and create a new item, my data item always shows a blank item at the top of the list, which looks a bit, well, daft. Here is a snapshot of it 'in action': I created the column like this: I have tried many, many options, also with Chrome and IE11, but I always get the nameless option at the top. It is also the same if I use a drop-down menu; there's a blank entry at the top. There are no extra lines in the 'Type each choice' field. A google search appears to show that I am the only person in the world with this problem (everybody else appears to want a blank entry. I don't want one!) What am I doing wrong?
