2 TopicsReminder: Adobe Flash Player end of support
Microsoft is ending support for Adobe Flash Player on Microsoft Edge (new and legacy) and Internet Explorer 11 at the end of 2020. Here's what you need to know: https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/09/04/update-adobe-flash-end-support/ Key highlights: In the new Microsoft Edge, Adobe Flash Player will be removed by January 2021. The schedule of changes is availablehere. After December 2020, you will no longer receive a “Security Update for Adobe Flash Player” from Microsoft that applies to Microsoft Edge Legacy and Internet Explorer 11. In the second half of 2021, the APIs, group polices and user interfaces that specifically govern the behavior of Adobe Flash Player will be removed from Microsoft Edge (legacy) and Internet Explorer 11 via the latest “Cumulative Update” on Windows 10 platforms and via “Cumulative Update for Internet Explorer 11” or “Monthly Rollup” on Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Embedded 8 Standard.5.3KViews7likes10CommentsOpening first session of Internet Explorer from application bar icon does IE flashes and don't start
Some of my users sincefew weeks have a very particular problem with Internet Explorer. From IE closed, clicking the icon on the taskbar makes a flash as if it opens for a moment and then closes. Often from the second click IE opens correctly. We also have a web application that works with Java for which there is a desktop icon in the C:\Users\Public\Desktop folder. This icon calls 32-bit IE "C:\Program Files(x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" by passing it the address to open and a parameter. Double clicking on this icon often shows the attached message. I noticed that with IE closed the message appears and often if there is already an open IE session the application opens correctly. Made all the evidence that came to my mind but without solving the problem: • IE reset • Deleted IE temporary files • Performed SFC / ScanNow • Restarted PC Trying to access the same PC with another user, this problem does not occur. I would like to avoid deleting the user's profile because it would mean reconfiguring everything. Could it be a profile problem or corrupt regedit? Has anyone ever stumbled upon this problem? How can I solve? Thank you.832Views0likes1Comment
