Hello We're having ongoing issues connecting to external members of our Teams in chat. Our organization has about half of our team as external contractors from another org so half the team is at a second domain. We have all the members of the 2nd domain as Members. Ie I toggled them from Guests to Members in Azure directory. They all have Teams licenses in their 'home' domain. On Desktop - we can tag any of them no worries. Typing in their name after @ finds them immediately and we can tag them. In Chat however, typing in their name results in not finding anyone. I can type their full email and we can chat with them as an external person but then the chat is in their other domain, not our domain. On Mobile however, this is not an issue. Any of our members can be found in chat, and in fact we can't even add them to chat with externally. On Desktop, I can go into Manage Team, find the member (from external domain), click on them to get their info and then Chat with them and then it opens up their chat no worries. Just can't actually start the chat from the Chat window.. Becoming quite an issue as half our team is struggling to connect to the other half.758Views0likes0CommentsOffice 365 users in teams meeting show as guest
During a team video meeting (a class), I saw that most of our students (who all log in with their office 365 accounts) show up as "guests". This happened to me last week (but fixed itself), and today happened to another teacher (although I can see everyone with their username or display name, she only sees 'guest'). Even after she logged out and back in again, when joining the video meeting she only sees the list of attendees and chat with almost everyone as 'guest' (a few students show with their username or display name). Does anyone know what is happening?67KViews0likes12CommentsNotify External Guests of files updated
We have External Guests that are persons outside of our company that we want to collaborate with. When a file is updated or we want to let persons know about the file(s) being updated, is there no way to do so? People try to do the Share, yet our company does not allow everyone to have access, only persons in that Teams team to have access to view the file. Microsoft removed the Teams / SharePoint link so now things ONLY open in SharePoint Online, which is CONFUSING for persons as they think they're in Teams. Is there a way to allow persons to be notified of files that are updated via a link somehow that will allow them to click on it and open in a Teams web experience or if they have the client to open then. IF none of that is possible, how would a Workflow be executed in Power Automate to make it easy for people to share the files? I mentioned to go to the details pane and then click on the link as I demonstrated in the sticky notes, yet it is not as easy and or collaborative.Solved917Views0likes1CommentAnonymous Guests joining meetings - can't share video
I'm having trouble figuring out what policy I can adjust to get the desired outcome. When I normal user creates a meeting with an external guest user, unless the external guest user joins with an actual account, they are unable to share video. See the screens below. This is specific to mobile devices (iOS) but when a guest clicks on the join meeting in email, it will launch teams. They select to join as guest and type in their name. When they get to the next screen, they are prompted to wait for someone to join, however you can see the greyed out camera icon. Once the other party joins, they are put in the meeting automatically but then the camera button is removed. They are unable to share their video. The only thing I've been able to figure is the meeting host can promote them (once they've joined) to status of attendee and if the guest leaves and rejoins, they can then share their video. I've looked through all the MeetingPolicy and GuestPolicy items and can't find anything that is specific to Anonymous users or Guests that would cause this. This doesn't seem to apply if the guest joins on a laptop browser. Thoughts?14KViews1like6CommentsGuest user cannot join live event via browser
I've setup guest access to Microsoft Teams, to be able invite guests to live events. I'm able to setup the live event with the option "specific people or groups". And I'm also able to join the event with internal users but not with external ones.Solved9.7KViews0likes8Comments
