Hello , I would like to add date picker on an excel sheet. The goal is to create an excel file and have this sent to users to fill in. When filling the excel, and click on the start date, a calendar dropdown should appear and users select the date from the calendar so as to eliminate different date format and make it unique across the document. I was able to get a date picker add-in however this wont work because I am sending to users please see below:639KViews0likes13Commentsworkbook and sheet name via formula
I have a standard header I put on almost every excel workbook I create I have been using for years. It includes several standard items, including Workbook name and Worksheet name, which are extracted via CELL("Filename",A1) formula. For Excel workbooks that are being viewed in Excel Online, however, whether through onedrive, sharepoint, or whatever, this formula yields a #VALUE! error. When I open in desktop, it renders fine, just not when looking at browser window. Is there an alternative that I can use to display current workbook and worksheet names via a formula in a cell that is compatible with Excel Online?Solved334KViews1like63CommentsColor coded dropdown lists
I'm using Microsoft Excel for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2306 Build 16.0.16529.20226) 64-bit I have a status report for which I'd like to use a dropdown list for different statuses and have the associated colour in the cell where the status is selected. I am able to create the dropdown list and use it, just the colour coding doesn't come across with it. I have a file of the status report but can't see an option to attach it... Hello, I am struggling to find the right formula that will let me fill Sheet 2 Column B based on the value in Column A. In the reference table made in another sheet I have all possible Column A values and the Column B values that match. What is the best formula to use. It will need to see that the A column cell matches the A column cell in the other sheet and then fill the corresponding B,C,D and E column values. But just filling column B is most important. Thank you for any help. I know EXCEL is very powerful and has the ability to do stuff like this. Until then I am copy/pasting values across which when some tables have 45 rows and there's 60 tables is a huge waste of time. Microsoft's website claims that the online version of Excel has a feature that will allow you to lock certain cells so that they can't be accidentally overwritten, but it doesn't explain how to do it. I've been searching for an answer for quite a while, but I can't find any specific info about how to do this. All the tutorials I've seen reference the desktop version of Excel only. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you.Solved154KViews0likes17CommentsRunning Macros on Excel Online
I am trying to run a macro on an excel spreadsheet (online version). I UNDERSTAND I CAN'T CREATE OR EDIT ON ONLINE VERSION, but I should be able to still run them and it is not letting me. I have my onedrive account logged into on the desktop version of excel I am using to edit and create the macros and once I save the file in xlsm (macro enabled) to my onedrive, the macros do not run on my online excel. Any suggestions?147KViews0likes4CommentsExcel Web App - freeze BOTH first row and first column AT THE SAME TIME
RE: MS Excel WEB APP Can someone tell me the secret to freezing at the same time, together, simultaneously the first row and first column in an MS Excel Web App spreadsheet. At this time I can only lock one at a time. I find it hard to believe that you cannot lock both (rows and columns) at the same time on Excel Web App version. Does this mean that no one builds large spreadsheet +50 rows long and +20 columns wide? I am getting a run around from Microsoft to get an answer to a simple and reasonable setting.135KViews2likes15CommentsExcel data uploaded to Virus Total and results returned.
I work with cybersecurity and alerts come in with a ton of hashes for executables. What would you recommend for me if I wanted my column in my excel spreadsheet to go to http://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/search and input each hash and give me the readout of if the file is bad or not. (Usually comes back like 0/67 sources or obviously 20/67 if its bad.)Would this be doable in excel or would I need to make a script for this?133KViews0likes0Comments
