Excel Formatting
6 TopicsChange default comma style formatting
After yet another one of the lovely Office updates my excel Comma formatting changed. Now when I click on the comma to format a column of numbers, instead of putting my negative figures into brackets, it puts a minus in front, but with a massive gap between the number and the minus. So now I have to CONSTANTLY change the format of the numbers. Is there no way I can change the default setting of what happens when I click on the Comma? Before this thing drives me bonkers?22KViews0likes4CommentsExcel formatting cells missing
Hi, After migrating to suite Office365, we have faced some issues with the custom format applied for some cells in our excel files. I´ll try to explain it next: We have a table with all my columns formatted, is like a template for us, the column/cells with the problem has a custom format like 'dd/mm/aaaa h:mm': *Personalizada = Customized/Custom This table is supposed to be fill it with some data extracted from our Oracle DB. Once we import data using powerquery and loaded it to the table we miss the format: We used to use this "template" before to update the Office suite to "Office 365" and we had no problem, the custom format was maintained. We was wondering if it could be related to the new version of Excel and if exists some solution to be applied... Thanks in advance.5KViews0likes0CommentsRow to Column Formatting for 5K Unique Rows
Hello, What I'm trying to do seems simple but not when I try to 5K unique IDs. I have 5k hospitals all in row format. Each hospital has procedural volumes (counts) for 33 different procedures, with the procedures in column format. Example in first screenshot below. What I need to do is convert the rows to columns, but have that repeat for the 5K unique hospitals and 33 unique procedures with the procedures now in rows. Result would be example in screenshot 2 below. Any suggestions? Thank you!1.5KViews0likes6CommentsFormatting problem with telephone numbers in excel.
I have a large excel file (905 names) where the telephone number is formatted xxx-xxx-xxxx. The phonebank program I'm using will not accept numbers in this format - they need to be xxxxxxxxxx or (xxx)xxx-xxxx. Can anyone tell me a quick way to change these numbers to either of the accepted formats. The only way I know of is to retype them directly. Thank you.12KViews0likes5CommentsHow to sort repeated numbers in ascending or descending order ignoring their signs?

Hi. I have a worksheet with products, selling price, cost and discounts from 5 to 50 percent. I would like to highlight any discount that goes below the cost of the goods. I can do this by individual line but what I really want is an easier way because of how much lists I have. Attached is a sample, any information is appreciated.Solved1.9KViews0likes4Comments
