When is Microsoft going to bring Microsoft Authenticator windows aka desktop or within edge itself? (People like me lose mobiles) Isn't Windows device considered anything? Only mobiles and android and iOS devices matter? People like don't store important info on Windows devices? Edge has support for in-built password manager like chrome with chrome and google passwords then why is edge not having 2fa support on windows yet in 2024? Is windows still usable if my phones goes for service center, dies randomly, or is stolen? Can I consider windows devices to be of valuable in 2024 or should I shift 100 percent to android and MacOS and ios? Should I throw my windows devices out of window since it is not dependent device when any other fails? On a sidenote, I tried checking out butWinAuthAuthenticatorexists for Windows PC is open-source & offers 2-step verification (but unfortunately not updated since 2016) so why Microsoft which focuses so much of AI of everything has been able to bring desktop version for windows users? Or am I asking too much in the name of security and privacy that big tech promotes all the time? Can we trust microsoft and windows devices? Expose each Edge's tab and PWAs sounds to Windows sound control separately so we can set different volume level for each of them When I install YouTube, Spotify web player or similar sites as a PWA (progressive web app) in Edge, or use them in different tabs, I want to be able to control each of their volumes separately using Windows sound control or the audio widget of Xbox Game bar, for more convenience and control over the sound we hear. currently, everything is shown and combined under "Edge". you can also upvote in feedback hub: https://aka.ms/AAckqfhNew floating button for the Web Widget in Edge
you can drag and drop it you can put it anywhere on the screen but it's sticky, so it automatically sticks to sides. if you drag and drop it on the center of your screen, it automatically sticks to one of the 3 sides, (Top, Right, Left), also got smooth animation when it sticks. it stays always on top of other windows (except for full screen games which I just tested) can be turned on and off using the option shown in the screenshot below How do you launch Web Widget? it launches automatically on Windows startup (unless you disable it from Edge settings or Windows settings) you can launch it by right-clicking on Edge canary shortcut on Start menu and selecting "Launch Web Widget" you can launch it from Edge settings page: edge://settings/newTabPage you can launch it by pressing Edge's (...) menu button => More tools => Launch Web Widget Microsoft EdgeVersion 90.0.816.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) This might be a Controlled feature rolloutNew Web Widget layout in Edge version 90.0.815.0 canary
This one only shows the search area, even when Edge window is closed, no news feed. pretty useful for performing quick searches, what do you think? by the way, you can also use the search area in Windows 10 taskbar to search the web, just like the Web Widget of Edge. but, since Edge is multiplatform, other OSes like Linux and Mac can benefit from this too.
