Install games from Xbox app, play it, then uninstall it, the shortcut that was made automatically on desktop will still be there, having a white placeholder icon. Expected behavior: the shortcut on desktop should be removed when the game is uninstalled from the uninstall option of the Xbox app. occurring in latest Windows 10 insider Dev build and Xbox app if you can reproduce it, add your details to this feedback: https://aka.ms/AAcirp216KViews1like3CommentsShow device's private IP address and Public IP address next to PC name in Windows Settings
Show device's private IP address and Public IP address next to PC name in Windows Settings => System => Remote Desktop for faster and easier connection and usage. it makes sense to show them next to PC name, because remote desktop apps on other devices such as phones accept those 3 types of methods to find and connect to PC, but in Windows settings only 1 of them is shown. if you want to find the private IP address that DHCP gives you, you have to do extra work and get it from properties of network adapter etc. or to find your public IP address you have to use a 3rd party website or service. so, it all makes sense and makes things easier to have all 3 pieces of information right in the Windows Settings. I've tested this myself and have had other people test it in my presence too, and in different network conditions, having all 3 pieces of information is always useful and necessary for Remote desktop connection. Expose each Edge's tab and PWAs sounds to Windows sound control separately so we can set different volume level for each of them When I install YouTube, Spotify web player or similar sites as a PWA (progressive web app) in Edge, or use them in different tabs, I want to be able to control each of their volumes separately using Windows sound control or the audio widget of Xbox Game bar, for more convenience and control over the sound we hear. currently, everything is shown and combined under "Edge". I'd love to see a new desktop icon/folder feature. Adding a specific type of New Folder that will only be displayed on your main/primary display desktop. The folder would always be visible on the main display and contain the icons that show up on all external monitors that are not flagged as the main display. That way, when a laptop isn't connected to an external monitor, those sets of icons are quickly accessible via the special desktop folder on your main display. You would no longer have a flood of icons when using only the laptop and when docked you have them at their normal positions.329Views0likes0CommentsWindows Boots to Black screen, NO Desktop, taskbar, start ,menu
Starting yesterday after a cumulative update installed in windows update, I started having an issue where I couldn't access zip files because the instant I would click or right click on one it would crash explorer and cause it to restart. I could open them by starting 7zip or winrar manually but oddly enough if I tried opening them as admin to extract to a protected directory it would again crash explorer and cause it to restart Yesterday I attempted fixing it with sfc /scannow which did find and fix some errors but did nothing to fix the problem I was chasing, so I gave up and put it off to the next day. The update is the only notable change I could think of to attribute the problem to so today I tried to use system restore to roll back the changes and that failed, twice, and on the second time when windows rebooted, it went to a black screen, with the dialog box open saying that the restore had failed, but nothing else ever started. Thinking it had perhaps started in safe mode, I used ctrl/alt/delete to log out and restarted from there, only to return to the same black screen. So now using ctrl/alt/delete to gain access to the taskmanager is the only way I'm able to get an instance of explorer to open so I can open a browser etc. and is the only way I'm able to use the computer at all now. I tried once more to run the sfc /scannow command but it found nothing. I don't know how to start the settings app manually, if it's even able to start at all, to be able to know what build I'm on or what the update number was that started this, so I'm afraid I'm not really able to provide much to go on in that regard. All I know for sure is i must get this rig back into some kind of usable form in order to comb through it and pull out all the things that must be backed up if a OS reinstall is my only way forward, so any help to get my desktop environment back would be a HUGE help and greatly appreciated.206Views0likes2Comments[BUG]Desktop Icon Order and File Explorer Window Size Not Saved
After updating to Build 26200.5661, I found two major issues: 1. The desktop icon order is not retained after reboot or shutdown. Every time the system restarts, icons are randomly rearranged. 2. The File Explorer window size is not remembered. It always resets to the default size after closing and reopening. These issues did not occur in the previous build. Expected behavior: - Desktop icons should retain their order and position. - Explorer windows should remember their last size and position100Views1like2Comments
