I have a Lenovo laptop and today the Windows 11 just went bananas. It says is missing this Windows.Globalization.dll, but I JUST CAN'T USE ANYTHING ON MY LAPTOP! Nothing works, I use shortcut keys and the screen flicks black and then gets back to home. I downloaded this .dll and CAN'T EVEN OPEN the explorer to copy this archive. The mouse just keep in that way with the hourglass. I ALREADY tried to repair the Windows and didn't change ANYTHING. Right now I don't have a pen drive with 16gb to repair the Windows with an iso. My next is try to solve this using the CMD in secure mod. Maybe update the Windows with it? Or can I copy the .dll to the system32 folder via cmd? I have a video of the screen flickering. In this I try to open the Windows Explorer via the shortcut WinKey + E https://youtube.com/shorts/CTVSNd7oSjs?feature=share22Views0likes1CommentHigh CPU and loud fan on HP laptop while idle
Why idle and connected to power my Win 11 HP Elitebook fan runs loudly. I've captured perfmon data and there are numerous svchost processes pegging the CPU. They're just numbered svchost13, svchost 27, etc. How do I see what they're actually doing to identify the offenders?17Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 search function slow to display results on initial boot.
The problem: When trying to search for an app for the first time since boot-up, the results are blank and takes around 20 seconds to be displayed. But the function has actually found the app I am searching for and its only the displaying part that is lagging because I can see the app's name being auto-completed and the app actually launches if I press enter at this stage. I remember this issue starting only recently, as in around 3-4 months ago if I am remembering it correct. I figured its the usual bug which will be fixed in the upcoming or the update after that but this has persisted for long enough for me to make a post in this forum. A video of what I am talking about can be found https://imgur.com/a/Zc6Q85X I am on build 26100.7462 for reference.15Views0likes1CommentHow do I pin a desktop shortcut to the Start Menu?
I have gone thru half a dozen "solutions" and they're all non-solutions. Most if not all lead to menus where the purported solution does not show, perhaps this is a question of versions. I created a shortcut on Windows11 Desktop. It is a shortcut to Windows Update. When clicked it runs correctly. The solution(s) I gathered say to right click the shortcut and expect a "Pin to Start menu" option to pop up. Well .... NONE did. Why is this seemingly simple and trivial functionality not failing on Windows 10? Would appreciate any guidance, tip or suggestion. Thanks in advance.57Views1like3CommentsTh best windows backup software or utility for Windows 11/10 OS?
Hi everyone, I’m kind of a newbie here and I really need some advice. I want to make a full backup of my Windows 11 laptop because it has very important personal and work data on it. I’m a bit nervous about messing something up, so I'm looking for the simplest and safest method to let me easily backup Windows 11 to an external hard drive or SSD. I don't have much experience with windows backup software, so I prefer something easy to understand and not too technical. Ideally, I just want a way to back up the whole system so I can restore everything if my laptop crashes or the drive fails. What is the easiest utility you recommend for beginners on Windows 11? Built-in tools, external hard drives, or any beginner-friendly software suggestions would be really appreciated.81Views0likes8CommentsMicrosoft forcing unwanted service onto users
Dear Microsoft, I have been a Windows user for many many years now and I loved windows for many years, but now I'm seriously leaving windows now. Since windows 10 you have been removing user rights in the windows and forcing your way of using the system onto us users, which I simply cannot accept anymore. If I buy a licens to Windows, then I should be the only one in charge of my windows install. Yet if I disable a function/service then you just turn it back on next time I update windows. Thats NOT RIGHT. And now you are removing the option to turn off these function/service, why? Leave my windows install alone. The latest issue you have done is removing the option to remove Copilot. When Copilot first was introduced, I could just uninstall copilot, and it was gone from my pc. Then you change it, so that if I disabled copilot it would disappear - I was fine with that. But now I can't even disable copilot in windows, the option is gone from the setting menu. And it everywhere in windows now and always in your face. I don't want to use it. If I want to use AI, I use ChatGPT (I know you own OpenAI) in the web browser, I just do not want copilot anywhere one my system, because I don't use it and is not going to use it. In your apps, like outlook, word, etc., you still allow users to disable copilot. However, before some update when a user disabled copilot it would disappear from the toolbar - Nice! But you changed that. Now the copilot button is still there, even if I actively disable it - WHY? Again, I do not want to use copilot which is why I'm actively disable it. So please, respect users' decision and stop forcing unwanted service onto users, especially when they have made an active decision to disable the set function/service. I'm leaving Windows for Linux. Outlook for Proton, Xbox for SteamOS, Office for Libre Office, Onedrive for Dropbox. I'm leaving Microsoft and all their products since they are not worth it anymore.66Views1like2CommentsCan I listen to Spotify offline without premium?
I’ve been using Spotify a lot lately on my commute and at work, but my data plan is pretty limited and streaming is eating it up fast. I know the official way is to subscribe to Premium and download playlists, but before I do that I was wondering if there’s any legit way to listen to spotify offline without premium. I’m mainly on Android and sometimes on a Windows laptop. If anyone has real experience with things like recording tools, caching tricks, or any other workaround (and whether they’re actually worth the hassle or risky for the account), I’d really like to hear what you’re doing in practice.480Views0likes10CommentsBest Way to Change iPhone GPS Location from Windows PC?
Hello, Recently been looking into ways to change my iPhone's GPS location for certain apps and services that rely on location data. Whether it's for privacy reasons, accessing location-restricted content, or testing location-based apps, being able to modify GPS settings can be useful. Since I primarily use a Windows 11 PC, I was wondering if there's a way to control or change GPS location on iPhone directly from my computer. I'd prefer a solution that doesn't do damage to my iPhone 13. If anyone has experience with this, I'd love to hear your recommendations on software or methods that work best. A step-by-step guide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your help!4.3KViews2likes9CommentsCan't find facial ID setup on Windows 11 Pro
