In case you missed it..... we had a vibrant conversation with Microsoft Yammer MVPs, Amy Dolzine and Melanie Hohertz, and other customers on ways to build engagement in your Yammer networks. This was an interactive discussion with over 45 folks from across the globe.8.1KViews7likes1CommentSWOOP Analytics explains why Microsoft Yammer & Teams make the perfect partnership for collaboration
https://www.swoopanalytics.com/ has https://www.swoopanalytics.com/benchmarking hundreds of organizations using Yammer and Microsoft Teams, and millions of interactions world-wide, to know exactly what “good” looks like. By introducing the Yammer Communities app to Microsoft Teams, it allows a direct connection to the entire company from within your day-to-day team.9.3KViews6likes3CommentsSeeking recommended steps to delete "All Company"
I have a scenario where an existing dated "All Company" community exists in Viva Engage from Yammer days and dating back to 4 or so years ago. The contents of this community (including posts, members, etc) are no longer relevant to the organisation as it has evolved a lot since then. The organisation now wants to adopt Viva Engage as an ESN but with a "fresh start". So they are keen to delete all existing communities, including the All Company one. I would like to understand if there is a best practice way to deleting an "All Company" community in Viva Engage? This help article (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/engage/manage-viva-engage-groups/all-company-community) seems to indicate that the "All Company" community can be treated like any other regular community: "You can delete All Company in Microsoft Entra ID, which takes it through a soft-delete and then a hard-delete process." However, people in this discussion thread - as recent as Oct 2024, have reported having difficulties: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/viva_engage_administration/delete-default-all-company/4186461 The thread indicates that if someone deletes the All Company - the community continues to show as existing for users - leading to an experience where people click on the community only to find it is deleted. I am wondering if there is a recommended way to delete and re-creating the All Company community? For example should we delete the relevant M365 group from Entra? If yes - when we recreate the community - do we do it from Engage and then go to Entra to set some additional properties to indicate it is the new "All Company"?Solved1.5KViews4likes1CommentNotification Experience in Viva Engage
Our company has recently adopted Viva Engage, and we've been receiving a lot of feedback from our users regarding the notification system, particularly around how it affects their ability to stay informed without being overwhelmed. We have also noticed a significant reduction in engagement from users since moving from WorkPlace to Viva Engage. Here are the main concerns we've encountered: Users who have email notifications enabled are receiving far too many alerts. Many have expressed a desire to receive email notifications only for new posts, not for every comment or reply. Those who have turned off email notifications often forget to check Viva Engage because the only way to see new activity is to manually open the app and check The app icon doesn’t show any indication of new activity. We have not adopted using the announcement feature and we don't intend to as: Only defined community specialists and admins are allowed to use this feature and we do not want to make every employee a specialist/admin for every Engage Community It requires people to remember to use the feature for every new post There are no pop-up notifications like in Microsoft Teams. The counter in Viva Engage shows updates for both new posts and comments, which many users find distracting. They would prefer to have the option to see in-app counters only for new posts, not for every interaction. I have seen people suggest the following workaround: manually unfollowing each post to avoid comment notifications. This solution is not scalable or user-friendly IMO. A more elegant solution would be to reverse the logic: users should only receive comment notifications if they choose to follow a post. Suggested Improvements: Add granular notification settings (e.g., toggle for “new posts only” vs. “all activity”). Introduce pop-up notifications for new posts, similar to Teams. Allow users to follow posts only if they want updates, rather than being auto-subscribed. Improve visual indicators on the app icon to show unread activity. We believe these changes would significantly improve the user experience and help drive engagement without overwhelming users. Has anyone else faced similar issues? Would love to hear your thoughts or if Microsoft has any updates planned in this area. Thanks!63Views3likes0CommentsNo emojis in Viva Engage
Hello dear community, I love viva enage and the path it has taken. Now with the co-pilot in preview, things are really coming together. Just one question has been bothering me for a long time: Does anyone here know why emojis have not been used on a social platform like this until now? Yes, you can react with emojis, but what would be much more important is to use emojis when writing a discussion question or post. And if someone knows the answer, why was it omitted ? Many thanks in advance.
