Analytics - adding file extensions to the URL / analytics report
Hello, our analytics isn't providing data on specific files accessed or downloaded by users. SharePoint strips out the file extension from the URL so analytics can't tell us which documents or files are accessed the most. Is there a way to alter the SharePoint URL’s so that they include file extensions? If this were possible, this would apparently allow us to track downloaded/accessed files.
Why are file views in SharePoint different from file views in GA4?
In the downloaded report from Site Usage, a document in the popular content is showing that is has 4 unique viewers and 13 visits in the last 7 days. However, when I hover over the file name in the Document library the file is showing 99 views and 42 viewers. Is this difference because the Document library is showing all views since it was uploaded? When a report was created in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see the views and users, the file had 283 views and 250 total users. The report was also showing different languages (see screenshot below). This PDF was not translated and is only in English, so I'm not sure why it's showing different languages? How does SharePoint and GA4 track views and users for documents? Why are the numbers so different?

Hello everyone We have a list of quick links on our home page of our Modern Intranet site and I would love to track activity on them to determine which links are being used the most and which ones we should switch out or delete. Is there a trick to getting that information? I found the similar question on here from 2018 and was hoping there was more recent solutions available. Thanks for your time! Cindy
How can I keep tracking tags when using Sharepoint's vanity URL redirects?
Non-Dev or IT here, I had a client who is using Sharepoint's vanity URL feature. Problem is that that the 302 redirect loads before Google Analytics can load and so I'm losing UTM tracking or any other kind of tracking code attached to the URL. What options do I have here?Detailed Page Analytics
I have a user who requires functionality similar to Google Analytics on SharePoint Online pages to track unique views, traffic sources and click actions on a page. We cannot use Google as we have stringent security accreditation requirements. Is there anything out of the box that would provide this level of analytics?
