Skype for Business 2015 and LDAP
Do Skype for Business 2015 uses LDAP to communicate to Active Directory (Domain Controllers) and clients? checking first before we disable LDAP in favour of LDAPS. If yes, please help to provide documents or how do I check if LDAP is really in used? Also, if yes, how can we change LDAP to LDAPS communication if we want to disable LDAP? Thanks in advance.
S4B online address book, how is it created, documentation?
After searching high and low I can find no information about how the s4b online address book is created, or with what frequency it is updated. Does anyone know of any technical documentation or decent blog post that exists? We see different results when searching from OSX, Android and PC, and in order to troubleshoot we need to understand exactly how entries are created and modified in the ABS.
Contact Card Memberships Shows All Groups
We use Skype for Business Online (in a hybrid scenario) and have noticed recently that the Membership "tab" of the Skype contact card now shows all group memberships whereas before it only showed distribution groups. Was a change made to have this view now show all groups and can it be changed back through any setting?What address book Skype for Business is using?
Hi I have live in faith that Skype have two address books: Local and web services. Now that faith has got a sratch: We have done some customization to the contact card based on this: Customize contact cards in Skype for Business The surprise hits to me was: depends of where user's mailbox locate it affect to the contact card. I meant when user's mailbox is on-premises the contact cards looks correct. But when user's mailbox is moved to Exchange Online, the contact card did not contains the value. It looks that if user is using Skype online or Skype on-premises makes no differences. Based on above, I have a feeling that Skype is using also Outlook's GAL some very strange way. This assumption I have got from elsewhere as well. When you search a person on Skype, and if you are using contact's secondary address (the one which is written with small smtp:) Skype founds that person also. Is there any clarifications how the Skype is utilizing the address books?Contact records in Skype for Business for previous employees
Hi All, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Someone asked me this and I thought the crowd may have an answer: What is the expected behavior of a contact record in SfB after an employee leaves. In the image above, the contact record that is highlighted is of a former employee, and malformed. Do we expect that this record will fall from the user's list? Or do we need to curate our own lists? If it means anything, these contacts were added as part of a mail enabled distribution list. Thanks! Joe Cistaro

Hello, During the install for Skype for Business Server 2015, IIS crashes occasionally with the following error message. Any idea how to get this fixed? "Prerequisite not satisfied: Before you install Skype for Business Server 2015, you must Install an update for Windows Server 2012 R2. Hello all, I am currently working on a project in skype for business. what I want is the following. I have a picture on a website. when it is printed on the picture, it must immediately set up a videocall. what happens now, I press the picture and he opened skype for companies neatly, but then still have to click on the video or bell button. is there a parameter to prevent this? so press the image and then immediately put up video Yours sincerely Martijn
CQ's fail where 0365 group is also an MS Team + How to forward to SIP address linked CQ
Two issued have cropped up as I sought to tidy up my call queues to take advantage of the fact that a CQ or AA does not require a dedicated PSTN service number. Issue 1) I was expecting my CQ's to show up as searchable in my SfB client - so that if I can call a CQ via its name (i.e. via its SIP address not a PSTN number) but the CQ's don't show up in the SfB client search results. I actually prefixed my revamped CQ's with "CQ" in the name thinking that entering CQ in the client search box would quickly bring up a list of CQ's that the operator could quickly transfer calls to. However, nothing comes up in my contacts list. I have waited several hours in case it was a syncing issue but so far no joy. If I search for the O365 group underlying the CQ it finds that ok - but then if I try to call it I am setting up a conference call rather than calling the CQ and that is definitely not the intent. Issue 2) you can add MS Teams functionality to an existing O365 Group and O365 Groups are how you set up the list of agents in the CQ. So I thought - hey I will make my CQ agent list (i.e. the 0365 Group) an MS Teams team - that way Teams can be used by the CQ agents as a quick and easy way to record actions arising from the call. However, when I have converted the 0365 Group to an MS Team the CQ reports (on the SfB Admin Centre CQ Tab ) no agents found - so it seems that making the 0365 Group an MS Team disables (whether intentionally or not on MS's part) its ability to work as a CQ. That therefore nixes the utility of being able to use Teams as a "pop up" back office for those working on the CQ. I wonder whether nomorephones or Deleted might have some insight on / interest in this. At the very least admins need to be made aware that if they decide to suddenly add teams functionality to an O365 group it APPEARS that they are likely to take down any associated CQ - more testing is definitely required as someone could easily use the Powershell recently released powershell tools for teams - provide the teams functionality to a large number of existing O365 groups and end up with a very big mess if my issue was to be replicated. Also - I note that there are no keywords related to AAs and CQ's on the list for this forum. Given that we now have these features it would probably be opportune to add some.
