PWA-SharePoint - Access Rights / Settings
I am absolutely struggling to wrap my mind around settings for User Access involving PWA and the individual SharePoint Project sites. In our solution: 1. We are using 'Project Permission Mode' 2. When a new Project is created, we have a Flow that creates a corresponding Team and SharePoint, and establishes a User selected while setting up the Project as the 'Owner' of the Team/Group for the Project. 3. Once the Project is created, in the Teams app, the 'Owner' will add Members to the Team for a specific Project. 4. Each Team has tabs which link to various document libraries (drawings, specifications, contracts, etc) in the SharePoint site for the Project. The Issue: When the Owner adds an employee to a Project Team, the employee is able to see that Team in their Teams app... However, some employees, when they click on a Tab that corresponds to a SharePoint document library, they get presented with "You need permission to access this site / Request Access". My main struggle is that not every employee experiences this issue, and I cannot find any sort of consistency. Any advice? --- Additional Information: 1. Not all users need any sort of access to PWA or the PWA Project Site. The users that do need access to PWA are assigned (at minimum) a Project Essential license. 2. All users, when added to a Team, need (at minimum) the ability to Read the SharePoint site for the Project, and the files stored there. Much appreciated, TRR
Create a custom field with Project creation date
Hello Everyone, In Project Server, I'm trying to build a view and in this view, I'd like to group my projects by date of creation (MM/YY), so to that, I write a foncion but I'm not able to use the [Created] with my custom field, I performed some tests with Year([Created]) but it returns empty value all the time, so in my custom field formula I just added: [Created] and the result is the same, it returns no value But where this thing is pretty weird is when Iadd the column created in my view, I have some data inside, I did some tests with other dates and everything is working, I'm just meeting this issue with the Creation data of Project Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? Referring on previous task's custom field in formula
Hi everybody! I need to set indicators in custom fields that would implement a comparison of the custom field Number1 from the current task with Number1 from the previous task. How can I set a link in a formula to another task? Details: If the finish deviation of task #2 is 5% greater than the finish deviation of task #1, then I need a yellow indicator. My boss wants to see the variance trend, whether it's growing or not. I don't know how to refer to the previous task field in the custom field formula. Thanks!
Which tool when: Project or Planner?
There's a reasonably new project management tool in play. When should you use Microsoft Project versus the newer Microsoft Planner? There are pros and cons to both and it's important you know them before getting started. That, and proponents of Project may be going overkill now that there's a user-friendly 'competitor'. Issue: Reporting (Project Publish) Failed But Not Blocking Correlation - Project Server 2013
All of a sudden, I am facing an issue where Reporting Database is not updating and all data are not updated in User Views. Why it is happened? Please help. Additional column to show resources from one resources-group
Hello Community, I am trying to create additional columns to show only resources from the same type of resources-group assigned to a task. (Please see example in picture) How should a formula look like to achieve this filtering? Or are there other options to achieve this? Im using Project 2013. This is an example of the resources table: I tried for weeks now but can’t get it working. Any help is highly appreciated. Regards, Jochen
Problems Editting Enterprise Calendars
We are trying to edit existing enterprise calendars and receive the attached message. Yes Project Professional 2013 is open and connected to the same environment as PWA. Hi, I have a number of Ghant Charts tracking progress through a large contract whereby there are sometimes around 300 Tasks divided between 8 Teams (resources) each Team starting at the same time and working through their stream alongside each other. The unit for each task is days. Every month I am having to manually go in to the charts and count how many remaining days I have on the program before completion. Is there any way of running off some kind of report that will tell me how many remaining days I have on program from a certain date to the completion date? Thanks.
