Word is inserting a doulbe line instead of a single line

Thanks for your reply but I'm not looking for a more narrow line. I need the line that's created by typing 3 underscores (a thick, single line). However, Word is suddently inserting a double line instead of a single line and I don't know how to fix this.
You could always use Insert > Shape > Line which will give you total control over a line or use the Borders and Shading dialog to control/modify the line inserted by AutoCorrect as a border.
I am getting a single, thick, line with underscores. I do not believe this has been changed.
