OneDrive/SharePoint does not play well with macros, in my experience. I have had no problem using with local files that are synched to OneDrive.
The continuation of numbering from the main document could be cured with a change to the macro.

I know the numbering issue could be fixed; I just wanted to be sure anyone else who tried it was aware that it would do this. It's just too bad the macro didn't solve the primary problem I've been having.
In my environment, it was restored with the latest version (version 2410 build 18129.20116). Please give it a try.
