Spacing After for paragraphs
I have Microsoft Word for Mac (version 16.24.1) on Mojave. A document that was worked out in Mac Pages was saved as a word 1997-2004 compatible (.doc) version. When opened, the document shows that Spacing ‘After’ for paragraphs was set to 5.76 pt. I want this to be 6 pt. This is what I did with no success:
- I manually changed all paragraphs of the document to be Spacing ‘After’ 6 pt, saved, and opened again. The 5.76 pt returned.
- I set the default of the document to spacing ‘After’ 6, saved, and opened again. The paragraphs once more show the Spacing ‘After’ 5.76 pt (rather than 6 pt).
- If in the former cases I would just set any single paragraph to 6 the paragraphs of the whole document will automatically become 6 pt. If this new changed document is saved, opening it again will show the annoying 5.76 pt.
Why this strange behavior? Is this a consequence of saving mac Pages as a Word (.doc)?
What can I do to correct this annoying problem?
