Same author, multiple colors for Track Changes

I want to be able to differentiate between 2 or more sets of tracked changes, all made by me. It would be good to do that by using different colors. Which is tricky, since the colors are either determined by author or just a set color.

I used to do this with the little trick of changing your username in the options, which would give you another color.

But after the switch to Windows 11, this doesn't seem to do the trick anymore. It keeps the same color, no matter which username I set.

Has anyone found a new way to do it? This would be very

helpful.

Our organization uses  Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 (I am not sure if they upgraded the version of Office aswell when upgrading to Windows 11)

I take it you are doing this by changing the user name at File > Options > General? Did you also remember to select the option "Always use these values regardless of sign in to Office"?

  • JustSam I do not believe that the change to WIndows 11 would have affected that.  Do you have "By author" selected in the appropriate places in the Advanced Track Changes Dialog?

      Yes, it is by author.
That is not the problem, different authors do still have different colors, when it's actually another user.

What I want, is for one author (me) to be able to track different changes in different colors.

That's never been a literal feature, but I used to be able to accomplish it, by changing my username and initials in the settings.
