"Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" is driving me NUTS!

Copper Contributor

I work on long documents with numbered lists. I want to always add space between paragraphs of the same style. Over days and weeks of editing, the 6pt spaces between the paragraphs in my docs just randomly disappear here and there as I am editing, even if I Ctlr-A the whole doc and remove the check mark in the "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" box.
I've done the Home > Right-click "Normal Style" > Modify > Format > Paragraph > clear the "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" box > OK > OK  process and it DOES NOT WORK!
Does anyone know what to do about this?

@John_erbes With the Selection in one of the Numbered List Paragraphs, press CTRL+SHIFT+S to display the Apply Styles dialog which will display the Style that is in use for that Paragraph.  Use the Modify button to modify the paagraph formatting of that Style Iwhich is probably NOT the Normal Style that you had previously modified).

You were right.
The Style comes up as List Paragraph.
