Protected View Default View for Word documents

We are continually looking to improve and secure our peoples experience. We have protected view enabled via GPO so that attachments via email or over the internet are opened in protected view (Read View).  We find people sometimes just click "Edit Document" without thinking, this is an education thing yes, but we feel if the Protected View opened with the Print View this would reduce the number of people just clicking edit document, as they have the toolbar that looks familiar with some options on it. 
This can be achieved by just pressing Escape, but could this be the default view on "Protected View". 
There may be a reason why this is not possible and we have asked MS Support but does not seem possible. 
Is this something we could request as a Feature request?
