I create documents with the tracking function off but I need to use change tracking when editing other people's documents in Word. Unfortunately there's no indicator of whether the tracking function is on or off, so I often find myself doing multiple edits before realizing that the function is off. Then I have to go back to redo all the changes. The "track changes" icon in the ribbon looks the same whether it's on or off.
Is there any way to get an indicator in Word 2016. Do later versions have such a function?
Thanks

Is this Word for Windows? You can add the Track Changes on/off status to the status bar in Word. Right-click the status bar and click to select Track Changes.

Thanks very much. I never knew that right click command for status bar settings even existed.
