How to have outline text format and numbering consitently applied in Word 365?

I have a document that should have visible outline numbering as in the attached example.

I can set the default font as APHONT for people with vision problems and tabs every .3".

However, the working document does not preserve the vertical alignment when edits are made.

How do I go about ensuring that the styles of the 4 levels are consistently applied?
