Footnote numbers change to all 8

Hello, I have a problem when I change the footnotes to start from the beginning on each page, where the order of the numbers in the footnotes changes completely to the number 8, is there a solution?

There have been some similar reports in the Microsoft Community forum. Which version of Word are you running? Is it the Windows version or the Mac version? Also, which language support is installed? Are you perhaps using a right-to-left language?

I have used Microsoft word 2021, windows version with Arabic, right-to-left language, how can I solve it?

I recommend that you report this via the Help > Feedback facility in Word.

Microsoft indicates that Footnote numbers all change to 8: This problem has been fixed by a service change, which fully rolled out on May 29th, 2024.

I have large documents( 500+ pages) where footnotes restart on every page. It has never been an issue. Now that Microsoft has fixed the issue, how do the documents get corrected. I have checked and I have automatic updates on and updates have been made, just not this one. Thanks!
