Windows 11 insider preview 22593.1 (ni_release) failing
2 previous updates were also failing with the same error. I was hoping 22593.1 will install but I got the same 0xc1900101 error:
Did anyone find a solution to this besides a clean install?
Thank you,
Paul

Hi!
I'm a little bit late, but I found what create the problem for me and a solution. Maybe it can help someone.
You can try disabling all your disks except your drive C in disk management. you can put them offline there. I had noticed in an errors log that the update was trying to install on my F drive and it was causing the GSOD. once all the drives are offline, the update installs without a problem. you just have to put your drives online afterwards.Bonjour!
- DazeronicaCopper Contributor
I have the same exact problem here.

Finally found a fix which was posted in another discussion thread. Was having the same issue as everyone else when updating.
Someone in another thread suggested "enabling virtualization in BIOS"

Hope this helps

I initially thought I had virtualization enabled in BIOS. It was not the case. After re-enabling it and running the update, it was successful.
- DarrenMcMSBrass ContributorStill broken.
I uninstalled a few games thinking the Update needed more memory ,still the same error with the last windows update.
Driving me to insanity now.
- john886600Brass ContributorYes don't install a DEV build unless you want your computer unstable and unreliable NI_Release is a DEV build I've tried it as you can no longer get BETA builds
- DarrenMcMSBrass Contributor0xc0000005 error with the new and previous update.
Sigh.
- john886600Brass ContributorAt the moment all the updates and builds are from the DEV channel unreliable and unstable the BETA channel no longer exists as MS has combined them into 1 channel which is why many people are leaving the program Beta builds were often very stable and reliable now the DEV builds are being shoved into both channels no more BETA
- lewmorkCopper ContributorSolved disabling antivirus (Bitdefender), update successfull

All previous versions un-installed at 60% and went back.
It seems to have solved the problem.- lewmorkCopper ContributorWindows 11 Insider Preview 22598.1 (ni_release) not installing (same error, 0xc1900101), GSOD with message: "INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP".
None of the solutions mentioned here is working for me (MSMQ is already disabled)- aqwarisCopper Contributor
lewmork Too many failed updates. This update to Windows 11 has caused me so much anxiety and inconvenience that I am thinking of doing a new installation to get Windows 10 back. I wish Microsoft to release a more convenient update that does not cause such inconvenience! I wish all of you who are going through these difficulties patience and success!

Same here...it doesnt work at all.
In fact, I have no idea why my computer is even attempting to install this as I had not registered to be part of the insider programme on this computer. Most irritating.
