Hi @sarthaka2018,

If you're getting error 0x80248007 when trying to download the Windows 11 Insider Preview, there are a few things you can try:

  1. Check Your Internet Connection: First and foremost, ensure your internet connection is stable. Sometimes, update problems can be linked to network issues. Try restarting your modem or router to make sure your connection is in good shape.

  2. Restart Your Computer: It might sound simple, but a good old-fashioned restart can do wonders. Give it a try and see if it helps.

  3. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter: Windows includes a handy troubleshooter that can identify and fix common update issues. Here's how to use it:

    • Open the "Settings" app (Press the Windows key + I).
    • Go to "Update & Security."
    • Click on "Troubleshoot" in the left panel.
    • Under "Get up and running," click on "Windows Update" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Clear Windows Update Cache: Another potential fix is to clear the Windows Update cache:

    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator (search for "cmd" in the Start menu, right-click, and select "Run as administrator").
    • Type these commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:

net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver

  • Close Command Prompt and try running Windows Update again.
  • Check Available Storage: Make sure you have enough free space on your system drive to accommodate the updates.

  • Update Windows Manually: If the previous steps don't work, consider downloading the update manually from the official Windows Insider Program website. Here's what to do:

    • Visit the Windows Insider Program website.
    • Download the latest Insider Preview build for Windows 11.
    • Run the downloaded file to manually install the update.
  • Reset Windows Update Components: As a last resort, you can try resetting Windows Update components. You can follow the steps outlined in this Microsoft support article: How to reset Windows Update components.
