Window defender Black Screen

Copper Contributor

Since last week, my Windows Defender hasn't been working. In the Control Center, it says, 'The Windows Security Center Service can't be started.' Additionally, when I open Windows Defender, it displays a blank or black screen. Please help me fix this.

Run Windows Troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Run the troubleshooter for Additional troubleshooters related to hardware and devices.
Restart your computer in Safe Mode and then try to run Windows Defender.

To enter Safe Mode, hold down the Shift key while you click Restart. Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart, then select 4 or F4 to enter Safe Mode.

!!!Finally Found the solution!!!
Go to setting> Window update> Advance option >Recovery >Fix problem using Wndow Update.
Click on Reinstall Now.
Take about 15 min.
Come back and try to open Window Defender . It work......:)
This worked for me. Thanks
A simple reboot could be enough. I came across this problem a few days ago and it was fixed after restart.
Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause black screen issues. You need to download the latest graphics driver from the official website.
I fixed it by booting Windows 11 in safe mode. After that, exit safe mode and the problem never appears again.
Does this delete user and app data in C drive?
No. However, you should back up the data in case of unexpected failure.
I'm having a sort of similar issue on Windows 10. Will this fix work for Windows 10? Will it do damage to Windows 10?
Yes. This trick works for Windows 10, too.
Thanks, this works for my computer!
This should be a best answer!
