Put your current network on "metered" in windows settings. It helps reduce extra network traffic such as by delaying windows updates and such.

Many web browsers offer a "data saver" or "lite" mode that can reduce data usage by loading lighter pages:
Chrome: Enable Lite mode in browser settings.
Microsoft Edge: Use the "Efficiency mode" or turn off background syncing options.

    1.Monitor Data Usage

Windows: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Data usage to view which apps are using the most data.
macOS: Use Activity Monitor to check network usage under the "Network" tab.

    2. Limit Background Data

Disable or limit background apps that may be consuming data when not in use. On Windows, you can go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps to control which apps run in the background.

    3. Use Metered Connection

Windows: Set your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection as a metered connection by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Select your network and toggle on "Set as metered connection." This limits certain kinds of data usage.
