Windows 11, Start button menu, make it show all apps by default
My point is, you may continue using Windows 11 and share your ideas and concern and help the Windows team to improve their products.
- M-a-r-k_Feb 13, 2024Brass Contributorso a registry hack is ok if microsoft tells us... but is removed if we tell them. as ... wait ... what was it you said? Registry changes are dangerous and Microsoft does not suggest these?
Hmmm... interesting!!!! So can we get the registry hack back that puts the all apps as default? or have a [Microsoft preferred hack) so there is SOME type of solution. Rather then having solutions removed!? - M-a-r-k_Feb 13, 2024Brass ContributorI'm noticing a trend of no one liking the non-solution. Nor pointing us to a team that is not able/willing to help. And our suggestions are disregarded here (unless it's a workable solution which gets prioritized for a team member to remove the solution, seemingly prompted by the response here.) Which shows changes can be made from responding here. It's simply that Microsoft makes decisions and we are stuck with them. That's the answer. and don't share a solution where microsoft might find it cause it will be removed.

Manchester05 They can, but they can't know that there's a problem or a desire for change if these things aren't voiced to them. It's literally impossible to know to change something that you aren't aware of. This forum isn't making Microsoft aware of the problem, it's whinging into nothingness for the sake of feeling better about having whinged instead of actually directing your concerns to the appropriate area: the Feedback Hub. The Feedback Hub is where these issues are directed to the appropriate teams so that they're able to either include changes in future versions of Windows 11, or ensure that it's not a problem at all in Windows 12.
Whinging in a community forum gets your voice heard by the community, not by the company, it's really not a difficult concept to comprehend.

The question was (and is)- Why can't MS improve their products?
Own goals are supposed to happen on the football field.
- Todd_MooreFeb 03, 2023Copper ContributorWhy politicize everything? "Woke"? Really?
The solution The_PC_Clinic suggested worked for some people which is more than anything the MS rep has offered.
Bottom line: The new interface is crap. If we wanted a Mac (which is obviously where MS is getting their UI playbook), we would buy one. If we click the start button, we want to immediately be able to locate & find the program we want to START it. Not click another button. Simple... MS just got this one wrong & they need to fix it, but they haven't yet. - jrkaufmanJan 31, 2023Copper ContributorThis seems like a "Woke" answer. I would classify this as I don't know but I am going to answer anyway and nowhere give helpful advice.
- Reza_AmeriMay 04, 2022Silver ContributorThis issue has been reported, there is a workaround to modify registry and prevent auto-install.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved in the future, you may share this idea in the Feedback Hub app or upvote the existing one. - The_PC_ClinicMay 03, 2022Copper Contributor
Reza_Ameri you may have 10 days to revert back to Windows 10, but Windows update will AUTOMATICALLY begin reinstalling Windows 11 immediately after the reversion. This makes it so that after the very next computer restart, Windows 11 will once again be reinstalled. I have yet to find a workaround for this.
