Windows 11 Plays the 'Device Disconnect' Sound Every 47 Minutes on the Dot

Windows 11 plays the device disconnect sound precisely every 47 minutes, even though no device is actually disconnecting. This recurring sound occurs at regular intervals, causing confusion and disrupting my workflow, but I cannot identify any disconnected devices or hardware issues. Despite checking all connected peripherals and updating drivers, the problem persists, and the sound continues to play automatically on the dot every 47 minutes. I have also tried restarting the system and running hardware diagnostics, but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

Look for entries around the time the sound plays, especially warnings or errors related to device connections or hardware events.

  • Hi Shierven, the exact 47-minute timing makes me think of a scheduled task, power event, Bluetooth device, USB hub, or driver refresh. I’d check Event Viewer around the exact timestamp under System logs, then compare that with Device Manager events. Tools like USBLogView can also help catch a device that briefly disconnects and reconnects too fast to notice.
