Solved Froze during windows update

Copper Contributor
Doing windows update. Said it needed to restart to finish the update. It restarted, went to the screen saying
'Updates are underway
Please keep your computer on"

And froze.
Closing lid does nothing,
Power button does nothing.
I'm stuck.

What to do?

If you're patient and willing to wait, you can try leaving your computer on for an extended period. Sometimes, the update process can take longer than expected, and your system might recover on its own.
Sometimes, updates can take a long time to complete, especially if they are substantial updates. It's generally recommended to wait at least 30 minutes to an hour before proceeding with any other troubleshooting steps. If it still shows no progress after that time, you can proceed with the steps below.
1.Force Restart
If your PC remains unresponsive for an extended period:
Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off. This usually takes about 5-10 seconds.
Wait for a moment, then turn the computer back on.
2. Boot into Safe Mode
If Windows fails to boot normally after the restart:
Interrupt the Boot Process: Turn off your computer during the boot process (you may need to do this several times) to trigger the Automatic Repair Environment.
Choose "Advanced options."
Select "Startup Settings" and click "Restart."
When the Startup Settings screen appears, press F4 (or the appropriate number for Safe Mode).
Once in Safe Mode, you can try rolling back updates or performing other troubleshooting steps.
