Problem Windows 11 and ejecting USB drive

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I have a Seagate 14TB Expansion USB Drive.  When I'm done using the USB drive, I eject the drive and I get the message it's safe to remove the drive.   Reconnecting the USB the following day, I get a message there is something wrong with the drive and a screen to scan and repair the drive.  I click ok and Windows 11 begins the drive check and repair.  The repair never completes, I've waited an hour and end up rebooting my computer.

Question 1.  Why do I get the message to scan and repair and the drive has been properly ejected?

Question 2.  Why does the repair never finish?

Thanks for your help,

Mike
