How do I unlock my dell laptop if I forgot my password Windows 11/10
Resetting dell laptop password without disk is a challenge, however, Command Prompt (CMD) works well, provided that you can log in to another administrator account on the system, or in some cases you can enter it through recovery mode.
I helped a friend do it once before. The steps are actually not complicated, but you have to be careful. Here is what I did at the time:
Step 1. Log in to another administrator account:
If you have another administrator account on your computer that you can log in to, log in first. Open CMD (Command Prompt) and run it as an administrator, so you can right-click the CMD icon and select "Run as Administrator".
Step 2. Reset password:
In the CMD window, enter the following command:
For example, if your account name is "John" and you want to set a new password of "123456", you would enter:
Log out of the current account, return to the login interface, and log in to the original account with the new password you just set. Usually the problem is solved.
If you only have one account and cannot log in, it will be more troublesome. You may need to use other methods to enter the system or use some recovery tools. But if there are other accounts that can be used, CMD is indeed a good way to save time and effort. In addition, remember to write down the password after resetting it or save it with a password manager to avoid forgetting it again.
