windows 10 use cellular instead of wifi when wi-fi is poor

Brass Contributor

Hi,

I've got a question: when you have a SIM of eSIM in a Windows 10 laptop, there is a setting to use the cellular connection instead of Wifi. You can choose always, Never and When Wi-Fi is poor.

This last setting: what is the definition of "Poor"? When does the laptop changes to cellular?

Thank you,

Kind regards,

Jef

It refers to the signal strength , if you mouse over it shows the signal quality and when it is poor (normally when you are far away from the Wi-Fi hotspot) then it considered as poor. Normally in this case you have disconnections and slow browsing and to improve your experience it will use cellular when you select this option.
