Windows 10- Getting access Denied for a Domain Admin account

Copper Contributor

Hi All,

This is issue started last week on a number of windows 10 machines, not sure if a GPOsetting has been applied but it is affecting a small number of machines. Whenever I run an app with elevated command prompt and enter my domain admin (network administrator account) I get Access Denied. Also If I try and add a user as local administrator I get the prompted to enter my network admin credentials and get access denied.

The local admin account works but anything which requires the network admin account gets access denied. Its not account specific as a few other administrators have tried on the windows 10 laptop and get the same message. But on other Win 10 machines we are not having this issue. Is there a GPO setting which must be altered?

Hi,
if you are the administrator, check which policies you have changed/added/removed recently.
what all those problematic machines have in common? do they all reside in a specific group?
