Windows 10 cannot download Minecraft

I'm trying to download Minecraft Bedrock Edition, but the installation process gets stuck every time. The WindowsAppRuntime 1.8 dependency never installs, and the Microsoft Store reports error 0x80073CF9.

I've tried clearing the Microsoft Store cache, running wsreset.exe, restarting multiple times, using Winget, and even performing a full factory reset, but nothing has worked. The same error keeps appearing.

Go to Settings > System > Storage > Advanced Storage Settings > Where to save new content, change the save location for new apps to Drive C, and then restart your computer.

Click the three dots next to Microsoft Windows App Runtime Singleton and select Advanced options.

Your Minecraft installation is stuck because the WindowsAppRuntime 1.8 dependency itself cannot be installed through the Microsoft Store.

If you use any antivirus/security suite other than Windows Defender, disable it completely (not just real-time protection) and try the install again.

These tools frequently lock files mid-deployment, which AppX reports as a vague 0x80073CF9 error.
