Will future operating systems still have mysterious glitches?
Despite decades of advancement, operating systems will likely always contain elusive glitches due to the immense complexity of software, hardware, and driver interactions. I'm curious whether fundamental design changes or AI-driven debugging could eventually eliminate these mysterious, hard-to-reproduce errors that plague even mature systems like Windows and macOS.

Some argue that operating systems must evolve with reliability semantics as a core principle, not an afterthought. This means building the OS from the start to provide stronger support for application stability – e.g., through high isolation, deep observability, and fast, correct recovery mechanisms.

The act of observing or debugging a system often changes its timing, making the bug disappear in a debug environment.
