Why won't the Mail app sync my Gmail account on Windows 10?
Why does the Mail app keep showing "Not synced yet" for my Gmail account, even though I've re-entered the password and checked the sync settings? Why does it sometimes work for a few hours and then stop again?
Could this be an authentication issue with two-factor authentication, a problem with the Mail app itself, or something Windows 10 broke in a recent update? And is there another way to sync Gmail without reinstalling Windows?

If Gmail stopped syncing in the Windows Mail app, I’d first remove and re-add the account, then check that IMAP is enabled in Gmail. Also make sure the Mail app has permission to access the account and that Windows is fully updated. If it still won’t sync, testing the same account in a browser can help rule out a Gmail-side issue.

Microsoft has officially ended support for the Mail app at the end of 2024, and it no longer receives updates or fixes. Google has been continuously tightening third-party login policies (such as disabling "less secure app access"), and the old version of Windows Mail cannot adapt to these changes, resulting in frequent authentication failures.
