Hi,

If I have the Excel application open or pinned to the taskbar, I can right click and see Recent files, which I can select to open. This feature is great, expect when I'm looking for a file that isn't in the recent list.

What I would also like is a search field so I can type the name of the file I'm searching for, which would return only Excel files with the search string in the file name from my OneDrive/Desktop/Documents folder, etc., so that I could then select the search result to open.

The same would also be true for other applications, but the search results would be limited to files with the file extensions associated to the application.

Hello,

I believe this could be a great feature. I recommend you to submit your opinion to Windows engineering team using the Feedback hub app.

Good luck!
