OneDrive: Understanding the Presence of Multiple Folders in Explorer

Alright, I understand that some people have reservations about using OneDrive, but personally, I find it incredibly useful for syncing files and emails across my two PCs and laptop. I've discovered a way to prevent my desktop from being duplicated on devices with varying screen sizes and resolutions, thanks to OneDrive's functionality.

On the downside, I've encountered an irritating issue where two separate sets of folders appear on my main PC.

    Hey Elliot,

Can you describe to me what you mean by "two separate sets of folders"? Which specific folders are appearing multiple times (Documents, Pictures, Desktop)? Are the duplicate folders in different locations, or are they all under the OneDrive folder? If you could, some screenshots would be helpful.

    Here's what I recommend:

    1. Check if folders are syncing from different locations

    2. Check if you're logged into more than one OneDrive account since you might see folders from both accounts in File Explorer

    3. Try disabling OneDrive for certain folders by going into OneDrive settings and into the backup tab. Click manage backup, and turn off backups for Documents, Desktop, or Pictures, depending on what’s creating the duplicates.

Let me know if any of these things works. Happy to help! mailto:-@Jsquared17
