I survived the 0x0000007B BSOD. Never surrender a short story
Long road away from it's gone box a Dell XPS 630 sitting quietly in the corner with glowing green lights , 😯 hey y'all I'll Just wanted to share this absolute monstrosity of a victory with people who actually understand the pain and glory of this screen. I didn't just spin up a clean ISO this was a multi-generational, Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) digital transplant that spans two decades of hardware.
Phase 1: The Hardware Hopscotch (IDE to NVMe)
This installation started its life on a HP Pavilion a706n system spinning an old IDE drive. I moved that IDE drive over to a Dell XPS 630i, which allowed me to clone the 152GB of legacy data onto a SATA SSD. From there, I cloned that SSD into a raw image file, drug it over to a modern AM4 rig (Ryzen 9 5950X on an NVMe drive), and dropped it into VMware Workstation.
