I CANNOT get windows installed. Why?
I feel like I've tried every possible solution. I've been struggling for a full 12 hours, formatting the USB drive, re-downloading the Windows system about 8 to 10 times. I used Rufus, tried Windows 10, and even paid for a stupid third-party service to convert my MDR to something like GPT. I'm really very frustrated and don't know what to do.
I can start it, but every time I encounter this error! (The installation program does not support configuring USB or IEEE 1394 ports) Please help me, I'm at my wit's end now.

The error message is telling you exactly what's wrong: "Setup does not support configuration of or installation to disks connected through a USB or IEEE 1394 port." Windows is refusing to install because you're trying to install it onto your USB drive itself, not onto your computer's internal hard drive.

Regarding the USB drive, ensure that it's formatted correctly with FAT32 or NTFS and that the Windows installation media was created using the official Media Creation Tool from Microsoft rather than third-party services, which can sometimes cause compatibility problems.
