how to d/load files to desktop on Win 10?

Hi. To everyone here im a newbie here (first post) especially to those who give up their free time to help others.

Now to my particular problem which may be so simple to fix....i have upgraded my win 10 to the latest version "see screenshots."  since the upgrade i cant find how to direct all my d/loads to my desktop when asked i get so many options but none of them lead just to my desktop. I know it may seem trivial to most people but i am just used to all my d/loads going to my desktop. I do hope somebody can help.

many thanks in advance.

  • Hi, this is normally a browser setting. In Microsoft Edge, open Settings > Downloads, choose Change next to Location, and select Desktop. You can also turn on "Ask me what to do with each download" if you sometimes want another folder. Chrome and Firefox have a similar Downloads section in their settings. If Desktop is backed up by OneDrive, the actual path may be `OneDrive\Desktop`, which is fine as long as that is the Desktop Windows shows. One small caution: a crowded Desktop becomes hard to back up and organize, so the Downloads folder is usually safer for long-term use.
