How do I prevent windows from installing updates when I shut down?
Hi all,
I need to know how to prevent Windows from installing updates.
The latest update conflicts with Wacom hardware/software rendering my tools useless and at this point I'm booting up, uninstalling the last update, and restarting EVERY TIME. It's too time consuming not to mention outright annoying.
Does anyone know how to do this? I'm not able to find anything.
Thanks
Kevin

if you already have downloaded the updates and Windows has a pending install or you just want to one-off skip it just incase, hit F4 in an open area of the desktop screen and you will be presented with the legacy shutdown window. It will show Update Windows and shutdown or restart Skip that one and select shutdown, or restart.

You can stop automatic update download.
For Windows 10 Go to "Service" from "Computer Management" and find "Windows Update" then double click on it and select "Disable"!
Thank You!!!

I'm moving this question to the Windows 10 space for better visibility. (Hopefully, the question is about Windows 10!)
