Help button in Explorer and upload of data?

Brass Contributor

Hello everyone

In every folder in Windows Explorer, right under the (X), there is a (?) / the help button.
When I click it, it opens Microsoft Edge browser and then makes a search regarding help for Explorer in Windows 10.

Is the search in any way related to the contet of the folder?

Is any content of the folder uploaded to the Microsoft Edge server during the proces?

I assume, that the answer is NO to both, but I just wanna make sure.

Thank you in advance for replying

Best regards

Hi,
it's not related to the content of the folder; you can easily tell that if you open a bunch of different folders and then click on the question mark.

"Is any content of the folder uploaded to the Microsoft Edge server during the proces?"
of course not.

all that button does it opening this URL:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=528884
The same button is found in MS Paint aswell
So here I have the same questions

In MS Paint, just below the (X) there is a blue (?) help button.
When I click it, it opens Microsoft Edge browser and then makes a search regarding help for Paint in Windows 10.

1.
Is the search in any way related to the picture / file open in MS Paint?

2.
Is the picture / file open uploaded to the Microsoft Edge server during the proces?

Thank you in advance for replying
Could anyone else please answer:

No, doesn't matter what picture is open in paint, and picture is not uploaded.
