Exploring Files in Windows 11

Hello everyone,

I have successfully consolidated deleted and formatted files from multiple small disks onto a single large disk. My next goal is to organize and categorize them into different subdirectories for better accessibility by various programs.

Challenge: File Explorer is constantly attempting to search, index, and open these files, but with over 8TB of data, it's becoming overwhelming.

Resolution: I am seeking guidance on how to prevent File Explorer from automatically carrying out these tasks. Any suggestions or strategies would be highly appreciated.

To prevent File Explorer from constantly searching, indexing, and opening your large collection of files—especially when dealing with over 8TB of data—you can take several steps to disable or limit these automatic activities.
