Can I upgrade the DDR2 RAM in my old HP 550 laptop?

My 18-year-old HP 550 is running Windows 10 with only 1.5GB DDR2 RAM. Is upgrading the memory worth it?

    Upgrading will allow the system to handle a few more browser tabs and applications simultaneously without slowing to a crawl, and it will speed up boot times.

    Buy DDR2 RAM modules that match the supported specifications.

    Even with an upgrade, Windows 10 will still run slowly because of the processor and storage (likely HDD). Upgrading RAM alone may not make a significant difference.
