Boot device not found in Windows 10

Brass Contributor

Hi,

In a Windows 10 laptop, when I turn on, it says, boot device not found, reinstall operating system.

Using bootable flash drive, Windows installation was done successfully twice.

After 1-2 days, same error message appeared when I turned on the laptop.

After restarting 2-3 times, Windows loaded successfully and I see the normal screen.

I didn’t turn off the laptop for 10 days. The laptop was working fine till 10 days.

After 10 days, when I restarted, I see same error message i.e. boot device not found, reinstall operating system. Again I restarted 2-3 times, Windows loaded successfully and I see the normal screen.

Like before laptop is again working fine.

I run chkdsk 3 times. All stages passed successfully.

As Hard Drive is of WD, I run full scan with Data Lifeguard Diagnostic but no issues found.

I am unable to understand how to troubleshoot and find issues.

Try turning off the Secure Boot Device disabled and legacy enabled.
