What’s New in Viva Connections AMA
Event details
Join the Viva Connections product team for an hour of general Q&A and open discussion on all product news landing this month.
An AMA is a live text-based online event similar to an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with Microsoft product experts who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback.
Feel free to post your questions about Viva Connections anytime in the comments below beforehand, if it fits your schedule or time zone better, though questions will not be answered until the live session.

How do I set up additional VC experiences?- AnshumanGaurBrass ContributorWe have recently centralized the setup and management of Connections experiences along with the Home sites under Viva Administration in Microsoft 365 Admin Center. A global IT admin or a SharePoint tenant admin can access this new functionality under Setup-->Microsoft Viva-->Viva Connections to create and manage multiple Connections experiences. Check out this learn document to learn more about the setup and administration of Connections experiences: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/connections/set-up-admin-center

What is the new “Announcements” option available on Viva Connections?- NancyH2
Microsoft
Announcements feature will allow corporate communicators to target important communications like urgent announcements, role-specific updates, safety policy changes with employees in Viva Connections. These announcements can be set up and managed from your organization’s SharePoint home site or the Viva Connections app in Teams desktop. Announcements will be viewable to users using desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences through Viva Connections. These important messages are delivered through push notifications on mobile and tablet devices.

What updates have been made to the landing experience for Viva Connections?- NancyH2
Microsoft
We are working on a new version of Viva Connections desktop experience. The refreshed Connections landing experience will offer a more intuitive layout and introduce new features such as branding capabilities, announcements, revamped Resources section, and curated and individually managed links that support icons. This experience will also bring the Feed back into the viewport on your Connections page with a dedicated hero section to highlight organizational news. This phased release moves wayfinding to other Viva apps to the bottom of the dashboard, featuring quick ways for users to navigate to the apps they are licensed for.- NancyH2

How do I create a custom card for my dashboard?- Luca Bandinelli
Microsoft
Thanks for asking! You actually have a couple of options here: as a dashboard operator you can use the CardDesigner to build a card that shows static information and you have full control of the quick view thanks to the power of Adaptive Card. Operators can also use Teams app cards to "deep link" to existing Teams applications. If you need more control and full integration with external APIs or existing solutions, you can build what is called an "Adaptive Card Extension" using SharePoint Framework. We are also about to release the ability to have card views and quick views powered by a bot built using the Microsoft bot Framework. More information here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/spfx/viva/get-started/build-first-sharepoint-adaptive-card-extension https://devblogs.microsoft.com/microsoft365dev/announcing-public-preview-of-bot-framework-powered-viva-connections-extensibility/

- Catherine_ChuagaCopper ContributorWe are always looking to add new partner cards, such as Workday and SAP cards. Unfortunately, we do not have any timelines as to when we'll have Workday or SAP available.
